Boxbar chosen for record-breaking Coldplay gig run in Abu Dhabi

We are thrilled our automated, self-service bars played a role in Coldplay's unforgettable Music of the Spheres tour, which made history earlier this month at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium. Collaborating closely with our valued partners, OVG and Ethara, we worked to create an exceptional fan experience for this landmark event series.

Over four sold-out nights, Coldplay captivated an audience of 200,000 fans, breaking the UAE’s previous attendance record held by Ed Sheeran.

These shows also marked a first for the stadium: the introduction of alcohol service.

Working with industry leaders like Ethara and OVG, we delivered a seamless self-service bar experience designed to minimise queues and maximise enjoyment. This ensured fans could fully immerse themselves in the Coldplay magic without missing a moment.

Here’s how the run unfolded:

• We started with 40 self-service taps across the venue.

• These were distributed across 8 locations, including:

  • 7 in-built concourse wall installations

  • And 1 pitch side location.

Following the success of the first two shows and the demand from customers, we expanded to...

• 52 serving taps and added an additional pitch side bar for the final two concerts.

This history-making series of events, promoted by Live Nation Middle East, is a milestone we’re incredibly proud to have been part of. Elevating the fan experience and contributing to such a historic occasion was a true team effort.
